I am not going to lie, when Urban Decay first announced that they were launching a whole new set of lipsticks, I wasn’t excited. I love UD, but I already owned most of the Revolution lipsticks and after reading the names and descriptions, I realized most of the Vice lipsticks were just the Revolution lipstick repackaged. Which is great because I’m pretty addicted to some of the colors and will definitely need to rebuy them soon. However, that also meant that I didn’t need to go out and buy them. I finally decided I wanted to find a new nude lipstick, so I decided to buy Insanity.
Not going to lie when I first got the Vice lipstick in, it looked so much smaller than the Revolution lipstick and was worried that it was also a lot less product. So I grabbed a lipstick that I had only used once or twice. As you can see, the older version is taller and skinnier and I decided at the end of the day if it’s not that big of a deal if it’s oh so slightly less product. The new packaging is lighter, [I feel like] it fits better in my purse, the shape of the new lipstick is MUCH better for a precise application, AND the Vice lipstick is $5 cheaper than the Revolution lipstick. So overall, this was definitely a good change. I’m glad for it (sad that a few of my favorites are no longer available), but excited to when I get to switch my old ones out with the new ones.
Here’s a swatch of Insanity in the sunlight and in the shade.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the formula of the Urban Decay lipsticks. They’re creamy and pigmented and actually have really great staying power as long as you’re not eating. It’s comfortable and goes on really well. Hands down they are my go to formula. I will use other brands, but I basically always go back to these (esp the sheer formula because it’s glossy and balm like). The Vice lipsticks are $17 and are available on the Urban Decay website, Sephora, & Ulta. See my previous post as to why I recommend buying straight from Urban Decay.
