So I think I’m FINALLY in a routine where my skin is REALLY starting to improve not just temporarily feel better.
I love using my Lavo Giro Brush (with the silicone heads) and the Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate Cleanser first thing in the morning. I’ll pat my face dry, then spray the Lush – Eau Roma Water, Rodial – Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic, and Urban Decay’s Quick Fix. I know that’s a lot of sprays, but they all do something different. Plus, it is extra hydration that I need for my extra dry face. Once all of that has dried down, I mix a couple drops of the Tarte Maracuja Oil & the Majestic Pure Rosehip Oil and pat it into my skin. Last, I use the Tarte Drink of H2O to moisturize my face.
In the evening, I like to remove my makeup with the Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover with the Celkin Peptide wipes (I buy in bulk here). Then I use my Lavo Giro Face brush with the soft bristles (comes with the brush) and the ExfoliKate to get rid of any extra makeup residue and to exfoliate my skin. I take my same 3 sprays and tone my face. I use my same oil mix and pat it into my skin. Then I use the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Night Cream as my moisturizer and the Glycelene Eye Repair Oil under my eyes.
The Glycelene Eye Repair Oil should actually probably be used in the morning because it reduces puffiness as well as dark circles and is anti-aging, but I like using it at night because I find that I wake up without puffiness and dark circles. It is pricey, but this bottle will last you 3-4 months if you use it every morning and evening. You only need a TINY bit and it goes such a long way.
Here are the other products that I use pretty regularly, but not every day.
Pilaten Blackhead Remover Mask. I first saw this on IG through like Royal Cosmetics, but it was like $29.90 for the bottle. I was pretty annoyed when I looked up the brand Pilaten (the name on the bottle) on Amazon and found it for $6.99. Before you jump and buy this and get mad at me for misleading you. This is not as great as claims to be. With that being said, it DOES clear out SOME of my blackheads, but not all of them or even that many (mainly the smaller ones). It’s pretty painful to remove and will take all of your peach fuzz with it, but I do use it about once a week because I’ve noticed that I get less pore congestion when I use it semi-regularly and my pores are smaller than before. For $7, I think it’s worth it to keep using it even if it’s not super deep cleaning. If it was $30, then I would say to forget it and try something else. It does REALLY dry out our face, so it works better for oily skin. I just moisturize like CRAZY or use a hydrating mask after.
Tony Moly Sheet Masks. My favorite are the Makgeoli, Red Wine, & Seaweed masks. Those focus on pore refining and purifying my skin. I alternate which on I use depending on my mood, but I use these about twice a week, more if my skin is feeling extra icky.
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask. I LOVE this mask for after using the Pilaten mask because it’s cooling so it sooths the agitation from ripping all my peach fuzz off, and it’s hydrating. The best thing about this mask is it’s clear, so I can apply it and leave the house if I want. You don’t have to rinse it off after a certain time. I’ve left this on all day before and it works fantastic. This one is also great for airplanes because it keeps you hydrated and it’s not obvious you have a mask on.
Kate Sommerville EradiKate Spot Treatment. To be honest, neither this nor the Mario Badescu spot treatment actually gets rid of my pimples. Mostly because mine are always either blackheads or cystic. However, I use this when I accidentally agitate a pimple and it gets swollen. It calms it down quickly and helps it heal a little faster. I do like this one better than the Mario Badescu one because it’s more gentle.
Biore Strips. These will always be part of my arsenal. The blackheads on my nose are ridiculous, and this is the ONLY thing that helps clear it up. I do this treatment almost every other day, maybe every two days. I like getting the face & nose strips because the blackheads spread to my cheeks. I cut the face ones in half and place half on each cheek.
And when everything else fails me and my skin is just pissed off, I use the Glycelene Beauty Ointment to help my skin normalize out again. This is particularly handy after drinking, or when I think it’s a really good idea to go outside during a windstorm. Glycelene products are really pricey, BUT they’re all organic, vegan and the highest quality ingredients. This means a TINY bit goes a LONG way. I bought my jar of the Beauty Ointment Nov/Dec of 2015. Now, I don’t use it every day, but I do use it every day for about a week every month/two months. My jar isn’t even halfway gone, I also use this as a deep moisturizer for my hands when I’m sleeping. I love every product I’ve ever gotten from this brand and can’t wait to invest in more. Here’s their website for more info.
