I’ve been back and forth on wanting to try Gerard Cosmetics products. I’ve been interested because they are cruelty-free, and I’ve been seeing it all over IG (which means they’ve been well tested). The things that always made me hesitant was that I noticed the only people who tend to strongly promote them usually have a collaborative product with them, and get paid a small commission when their product sells. That in NO WAY means that they don’t also just love their products, but I have noticed all the other beauty bloggers and YouTubers that have mentioned Gerard Cosmetic products have only mentioned them once or twice, and then I never hear or see them use it again.
What made me take the leap is their new setting sprays. I’ve been wanting to try using other setting sprays (I’ve been using UD chill, but I wanted variety), and these sounded interesting with all their different scents. I decided to get the Green Tea & the Peach scent. I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed by the Peach scent. It does smell like peaches, but more like peach candy than fresh peaches. Basically, it’s a LITTLE too strong and too sweet for me, but it’s not bad. I think I was just a little surprised by the strength of the scent. The Green Tea one, I like much better because it’s more light and soothing scented. The product itself is good. It held my makeup all day, the only thing I didn’t love, was the actual spray. It’s not as fine of a mist as I would like, and if you’re not careful it’ll leave that slick finish. It’s really not a big deal. If you see big droplets on your face, just take a clean fluffy brush and buff it out. I would definitely buy the Green Tea one again, probably not the Peach.
The Star Powders:
Left to Right:
I’m not going to lie, these were not as pigmented as I was hoping. I had to swipe each of these twice to get enough color for it to show on my arm. I do really love the colors, though. they are really pretty and I think these would REALLY be great if you wet the brush before swiping (or if you prefer a more subtle glow leave them as is). The texture is great. It’s very velvety and I like that there isn’t chunks of glitter like I’ve seen in some highlighters. Overall, I would say they are pretty, but I probably wouldn’t buy them again. If it were slightly more pigmented, I would.
These are available on their website. The sprays are 1 for $22, 2 for $38, and 5 for $89. The scents are: Peach, Green Tea, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Jasmine. I think I’m getting Jasmine & Lavendar next time. The Star Powders are $15 each or 2 for $26. There are 7 different shade that include: Sophia, Marilyn, Audrey, Brigitte, Dorothy, Grace, and Lucy.
