These two are my current favorite perfumes. I love perfumes, but I am incredibly picky about scents. I don’t like anything sugary sweet, or heavy. I do love light floral scents with woody undertones.
- Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh – Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Musks, Cedarwood, Plum
I personally LOVE the original Marc Jacobs Daisy, BUT I felt like it was a little heavy for a day time scent, so I decided to grab the Daisy Eau So Fresh because it’s a LOT lighter. It makes a great light fresh scent for a hot day (which is pretty much always in So Cal). The bottle goes for $92 at Sephora, but I managed to find it on sale at Groupon for $42.99 (it’s now $52.99). The only downside to this scent is that is it VERY light and therefore the scent fades a lot faster than other fragrances.
- Jennifer Aniston Near Dusk – Nectarine, pink pepper, coconut water accord, living sea spray accord, jasmine sambac, queen of the night peony, orange flower absolute, sensual musk, white amber, blonde woods and vanilla bean
This perfume I am OBSESSED with. I’m not even going to lie, I bought the original Jennifer Aniston fragrance because I LOVE her, but I actually ended up loving the scent so much I went through 3 bottles of it. The original reminds me of the freshness of summer nights in So Cal by the beach. The Near Dusk version of it has a deeper slightly more sensual scent, and is perfect for a night out. It’s (imo) a super classy scent. I personally bought this at Kohl’s for $39.00 (the 1 oz was the only size available in store), but it is also now available in select Target stores for $29.99.
Tip: If you ever have a hard time getting fragrances to stick to you, rub a tiny bit of oil to the area you are going apply the fragrance to before you apply it. This will help bind it to your skin. Also, never rub the fragrance into your skin. The heat and friction will crush the fragrance molecules and ruin it.
What fragrances have you been loving? I’m always curious to try new scents, but I get overwhelmed going to Sephora or dept stores. Also, if you have your own tips and tricks using perfumes, let me know!
I recently bought Maison Martin Margiela’s Replica Beach Walk! Kind of a splurge but totally worth it.
