Happy October / Missing the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Hello! Last year for my “birthday” I FINALLY got to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know how much I love marine life and it’s been a dream of mine to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for quite some time now. Well, my friends and I decided we just needed to get away for a long weekend to escape crappy work situations we were currently going through. I took that as my cue to push my agenda of going to the aquarium. I think we ALL were happy we went. It was such a fabulous time.

We also wandered around Cannery Row our first night out there and has some dinner over at Old Fisherman’s Warf.

On the way back down we stopped in Paso Robles for wine& cheese tasting (and pairings). To be honest the only winery I remember going to it Tooth & Nail (which also happened to be the last winery we stopped at), but because it was a castle…. with a moat. Like what? I’m telling you it’s my dream house:

This is also the place in which I first discovered the Kat Von D Studded lipstick in the shade Lovecraft (see the story here).

I highly suggest that if you’ve never been and are planning a trip to the bay area or planning an LA/SF trip, take the scenic route through the 101. There’s SOOO much on the way and so much to see, but it’s often overlooked because taking the 5 is faster (and way more boring).
