Jeffree Star Dirty Money & King Tut Review

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this yet. I started this post like a month ago and just haven’t had a chance to finish it. 😦

Anyway, I really have been wanting the King Tut Skin Frost and I decided to get Dirty Money also and while I like them both, they’re definitely not my favorite. With that being said, you do get a lot of bang for your buck (with the highlighter).

I mean LOOK at how big that pan is. The only real problem with the Skin Frost are they’re really more like big ass eye shadow pans. They’re super pigmented and they do have a glowy sheen, but most of the colors are not actually colors that would be flattering to use as a highlighter.

Here they are swatched. If you remember from my last review of the Velour Lipsticks, I hate the applicator, and the formula is okay. It’s not the worst, but it’s not my favorite. The unique colors though are pretty fun which is why I keep buying them (although Makeup Monsters has lots of fun colors too).

The Skin Frost is pretty, but it reminds me more of a foiled shadow than a highlighter. The texture is pretty nice, the pigment is great, but it just blends out more like an eye shadow than a highlighter. It doesn’t diffuse and look like a glow as much as I would like.

I think I would buy these again if there were colors I absolutely “need” (I might “need” So Fucking Gold), but they definitely are not my go to formulas.

Thanks for tuning in!

  1. I totally agree with you on the weird colours. I don’t know who’d wear green and blue highlighters but it’s definitely not me! 🙂
From what I’ve seen on the swatches front they look quite glittery and chunky and not very glowy which is disappointing because I was considering purchasing one myself! 😦 xx

  2. Yea unfortunately, I think most of the hype with these is purely for the name. They aren’t by any means bad products, but they’re just not as amazing as everyone seems to say they are. Definitely love the funky colored lipsticks, but it’s a hard pass on the weird highlighter colors. Lol
