So I know there’s been a lot of mixed reviews about this foundation, and after testing it for a few weeks, I have to say that I like it a lot. I think I still like the Sheer Glow slightly better (for everyday use), but only because it’s more hydrating. I do think I would use this VS Sheer Glow for times when I need my makeup to last all day, or for special events.
This foundation is a medium to full coverage (it’s buildable), and it has a more natural finish. It’s not quite matte, but it’s not as dewy and luminous as the Sheer Glow. This is better for me during the summer months when I’m more oily, or the weather is more humid. It has better longevity than the Sheer Glow, and I don’t have to set it with powder. Even though it’s a “drier” formula, it doesn’t pick up on dry spots (unless it’s already actively flaking). I did try applying it with my fingers and with a brush, and I definitely like using a kabuki brush better. I also, noticed that I do need to use a more hydrating primer underneath. I think this would be BEAUTIFUL on people who have more oily skin but are tired of always having a super matte foundation. It works well with my dry skin too (with a really beautiful finish), I just have to tweak my products around a little my make sure everything else I use is nice and hydrating. OH and very excitedly, this one COMES with the pump instead of having to buy one separately like the Sheer Glow. I would definitely purchase again. I think this MIGHT replace my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, just because I get a similar finish, but this one is much more affordable ($49 vs $64). The only difference is that the All Day Luminous is a more lightweight formula, whereas the Luminous Silk is a thicker but slightly more hydrating formula.
I am excited because I picked up some goodies from the Sephora VIB sale:
I’ll have to wait and see how well the Drunk Elephant serums works, and I got the KaBrow because I’m going to be in Taiwan & Florida this year, so lots of humidity means I need waterproof brows. I’ll let you know how that works when I’ve tested it out!
