“Mommy Time” what is that? Does showers count? Haha it’s so hard for me to even think about what I do for me since I’m constantly with Little Man (and honestly for the most part I want him with me all day), but there are little things I do during the day either when he’s napping or I’ve forced hubs into taking him for a bit that give me a little sanity during the day.
1. Getting my hair done. I usually do this once a month to once every 6 weeks, but I CHERISH this time. I love my hair stylist. She’s amazing and I get to talk to another adult for a few hours uninterrupted by a baby. (I’ll actually be sitting in the chair when this goes up π)
2. Setting up my planner. I mean if we’re gonna be 100% honest here, I don’t have enough going on in my life to really need a planner, but I love setting it up and looking at it. It’s like a sticker book for adults.
3. My morning coffee. I know the joke is most mom’s don’t get to drink hot coffee, but for now, I totally do because hubs is afraid of me not getting my coffee in.
4. Blogging, taking time to be on Instagram and online shopping. I usually get it done one handed while kiddo naps on me, so it’s maybe an hour here an an hour there, but it breaks up my day so that I don’t feel totally isolated with just baby stuff. (Even if most of the shopping is for him….)
Those sound like a lot of the same things I do. Iβve also taken up gardening and have started a few trees I want to style as bonsai. Hubby asked why I would βadd more things I have to doβ yesterday. Like dude, if I donβt have time to water a few plants every couple days then YOU arenβt doing YOUR job in helping me. π
Blogging definitely takes our mind away from our mom time!
Great post!
Thank you and yes, blogging is a great little mind break. π
Showers are definitely mommy time, unless your kids walk in and want you to put the straw in their juice. Or worse, your husband comes in and interrupts your duet with Lady Gaga to ask you a question that could have waited until you got out of the shower.
ππππ thank goodness that hasn’t happened yet
Pretty much what I do but now my baby cries everytime I go for a shower or even in the bathroom and mostly he accompanies me. You can’t imagine how it feels like. Lol
Great post! So accurate. Getting our hair done is like a vacation for mamas!
Setting up a planner! I never thought about that. As a previous educator, I am so used to planning things out, it was almost theraputic. Now I just put everything in my calendar in my phone. I would love to get back to planning in a planner. Thanks so much for the tip. Where did you get that planner in the pic? Its awesome!
Blogging is the way to de-stress for sure!!! I’ve tried looking into hobbies or exercise regimens, and it never seems to help…
Showering is so hard to do now days, but itβs my favorite alone time!
I just started blogging to try and have some relax time before bed after little one is asleep! Geez I wish I could get my hair done that often π I have to squeeze in shower time while he naps. Great post
